Finding the total means that you need to add. 


Coffee Shop Math

 Look at the menu prices. Then answer the questions below.



1. How much would you pay if you bought a milkshake and a hot chocolate?

2. Find the total of a chocolate sundae and a strawberry cake. 

3. Dominic buys 2 carrot cakes and hot chocolate. Calculate his total. 

4. I went to the coffee shop and I bought a chocolate sundae, a strawberry cake, and a carrot cake. Find my total.

Tourism Tourism means people travelling to places outside of their usual home.  A tourist is anyone traveling for fun, business or visiting relatives. A tourist must stay at least 24 hours but for less than one year. There are different types of tourists. First, a domestic tourist is a person who spends at least one night away from their normal home but still within their own country. Some people call this a ‘staycation’.  Then, there are regional tourists. This is a tourist who travels within a certain region. For example, a Barbadian visiting Jamaica.  Suppose you really wanted to visit New York and see the Statue of Liberty. Then you would be an international tourist. An international tourist is someone who travels across international borders.
