Surface Area

The  surface area  of a three-dimensional object is the total area of all its faces. In real-life we use the concept of surface areas of different objects when we want to wrap something or paint something.  The Total Surface Area of cube formula = 6a 2
ATOMS, ELEMENTS AND COMPOUNDS  Atoms, elements and compounds are all matter. An atom is the smallest particle in ordinary matter that forms a chemical element.  Atoms are extremely small. Every solid, liquid, gas or plasma is made up of atoms. - An element is a substance that cannot be broken down  into simpler substances by chemical means. Elements are made up of atoms . What Elements Are Found in the Human Body? There are 92 elements that occur naturally on Earth.    For living things, only 11 of these elements are found in larger than trace quantities (0.01% are less). The Top Four Elements Found in the Human Body Of the elements found in the human body, four of them make up the largest percentage of our body weight (96.2%). The four elements are oxygen, hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen.  Why Oxygen? (O) Our cells combine oxygen with  nitrogen  and hydrogen to produce various proteins that build new cells.  When oxygen is combined with carbon and  hydrogen , you get  carbohydrates  tha

Math Test (Geometry)

  1. What is the difference between perimeter and circumference?  2 marks Remember, the perimeter can only be calculated if you have all the measurements for the shape. Make sure to insert ALL measurements before attempting to calculate the perimeter.  Section A - 2 marks each Pay attention to the measurement you have been given. [2 marks each] What is the radius and diameter of each circle? Section C - Calculate the circumference of the circles below. [2 marks each] Section D- Area of a Circle (Please check your formula!) [2 marks each] 1. If the radius of a circle is 2mm, what is its area? 2. A circular vase has a radius of 9cm. What is the area? 3. The diameter of a circular plate is 12cm.  a. What is its radius? b. What is its area?
