Azariyah Davis: Multiplication

 










1. Azariyah has 31 stickers. Her friend has five times as many. How many stickers does her friend have?


2. Find the product when 42 is multiplied by 4. 


3. My teacher gave me 22 sweets on Monday and three times as many on Wednesday. How many sweets did I get on Wednesday?

4. A small bag of chocolates has 45. A big bag has three times as many. How many chocolates are in the big bag?


5. I have $36. My sister has five times as much money as me. How much money does my sister have? 


6. Find the product when 128 is multiplied by 5. 


7. A man makes $270 each week. How much money would he make in 6 weeks?


Multiplying by Multiples of 10

When you are multiplying by 10, multiply by 1 first and then add 0.

Example: 25 x10

                = 25 x 1= 25

                   Add 0= 250


1.     36 x 10= 

2.     59  x 10= 

3.     109 x 10=


4. Kelly had 78 mangoes. The vendor has 10 times as many. How many mangoes does the vendor have?


Multiplying by 20

Step 1: Multiply by 2

Step 2: Add 0


Example: 3 x 20

3x2= 6

Example: 21 x 20

21 x 2= 42

4. Kayla had 14 yellow dresses. The store in town had 30 times as many. How many dresses did the store have?


5. Blue House got 76 points at my school sports. Yellow house got 40 times as many. How many points did Yellow House get?

b. How much change will I receive from $500?
