Parts of Speech

 

Noun- A person, place, or thing. Emotions are also nouns. 

Verb- Action Words

Adjectives- Describe nouns

Adverbs- Describe verbs (e.g) quickly, loudly, etc.

Pronouns- replace nouns. (e.g) she, he it, etc. 

Conjunctions- words that join sentences (e.g) and, but, so, although, etc. 

Preposition- Shows position (e.g) behind, above, before, etc.
