Types of Nouns

Common Nouns

A common noun is a person, place, or thing. 
(e.g) boy, school, pencil

Proper Nouns
A proper noun is the specific name of a person, place or thing. Proper nouns always begin with capital letters. 

(e.g) Barbados, Danny

Abstract Nouns

Abstract nouns refer to feelings and emotions. 

(e.g) happiness, fear, joy


Activity 1: 

Read the words below and place them in the table as either proper nouns or common nouns.
