Hygiene Comprehension

Hygiene is  how we keep our bodies clean and “sanitary.” Good hygiene allows us to interact with other people and reduces our risk of catching a disease. Being clean is also an important part of confidence for children. If your body and breath smell okay, and your clothes are clean, you will feel ready to face the world.

The simple act of washing hands before eating and after using the toilet is a proven and effective way of fighting off germs and avoiding sickness.

As children get older, skin bacteria feed on sweat in the armpit area and this can lead to body odour. To avoid bad smells, it is important to shower well and wear clean clothes. Dirty clothes collect dead skin cells and sweat which bacteria love to eat. That’s why they get smelly.

Good dental and mouth hygiene is very important. Brushing teeth twice a day, flossing, and going to the dentist regularly are vital if your child wants to avoid bad breath, gum problems, and tooth decay.
