SAMPLE TOPIC: The age to drive legally in Barbados should be raised to 18. Say whether you agree or disagree.

I strongly believe that the legal driving age in Barbados should be raised to 18 years. Firstly, the current age is 16 and many teenagers around that age are still quite irresponsible. Secondly, learning to drive is not an immediate need so, young people should be given more time to focus on other important issues such as schooling. Lastly, Barbados' roads are currently too full of vehicles so the fewer drivers we have, the better.

Teenagers have often proven themselves to be irresponsible. For example, they may make poor decisions in their choice of friends and they are still learning about themselves. How then can we expect them to be wise over the handling of powerful vehicles? For this reason, it would be a great idea to increase the age of our drivers.

    In conclusion, ...

And five times a day I was forced to endure this spectacle without participating in it. I never had a cent to my name. I was forced to stand in the background, and the sight of those cakes the pupils bought in a joyous uproar and devoured greedily and freely about me, overwhelmed me with passionate desire. Thus I began filling myself with water from the tap, in a corner of the yard and, every now and then, I returned to it, trying to drown my stomach to keep it qui
