Perimeter- Calculating Unknown Lengths

 Horizontal Lines and Vertical Lines


A horizontal line will run from left to right. 

A vertical line stands tall. 




Find the perimeter of the shapes below. 


To find the missing length of a shorter horizontal line, you must subtract the lengths of the other horizontal lines. 


To find the missing length of a shorter vertical line, you must subtract the lengths of the other vertical lines.

Tourism Tourism means people travelling to places outside of their usual home.  A tourist is anyone traveling for fun, business or visiting relatives. A tourist must stay at least 24 hours but for less than one year. There are different types of tourists. First, a domestic tourist is a person who spends at least one night away from their normal home but still within their own country. Some people call this a ‘staycation’.  Then, there are regional tourists. This is a tourist who travels within a certain region. For example, a Barbadian visiting Jamaica.  Suppose you really wanted to visit New York and see the Statue of Liberty. Then you would be an international tourist.
