3. An elevator can carry up to 12 persons with a maximum weight of 1,800 kg. What does the manufacturer of the elevator assume each person that takes the elevator weighs?


4. There are two boxes of cereal in the kitchen. One contains 450 g of cereal and the other one contains 1.67 kg of cereal. How much cereal (measured in kg) are there in total?   *** Hint: Change everything to the same unit**

Speed, Distance & Time


  • Speed = Distance ÷ Time
  • Time = Distance ÷ Speed
  • Distance = Speed x Time













Example: 

 A girl cycles for 3hrs at a speed of 40 km/h. What distance did she travel? 

  • Distance = Speed x Time
        • 40   x    3
        •  = 120 km


1. A pigeon flies for 7 hours at a speed of 70 km/h. Calculate how far the pigeon flies.

2. Jim travelled at a speed of 18km/h for 2 hours. What was the distance covered?
