Understanding Scientific Tools




1. Microscope 

A microscope is widely used in biology labs for the study of tiny specimens. 



2. Magnifying glass

This is basically a  lens that allows object enlargement



3. Voltmeter



These are used in electrical devices to measure the voltage (force) in an electrical circuit


4. Test tubes

Test tubes are used to hold the liquids upright and are kept in test tube stands, as they can't hold themselves straight because of the curved bottoms. 


5. Beakers



Glass beakers can withstand high temperatures, therefore they are used in laboratories for performing various experiments.



6. Dropper

A dropper is mainly used to transport small amounts of a measured volume of liquids to chemicals.

However, I gained a little courage and went with much dread to make sure that the footprint was not mine. I measured my foot against it. Mine was not nearly so large. Tourism Tourism means people travelling to places outside of their usual home.  A tourist is anyone traveling for fun, business or visiting relatives. A tourist must stay at least 24 hours but for less than one year. There are different types of tourists. First, a domestic tourist is a person who spends at least one night away from their normal home but still within their own country. Some people call this a ‘staycation’.  Then, there are regional tourists. This is a tourist who travels within a certain region. For example, a Barbadian visiting Jamaica.  Suppose you really wanted to visit New York and see the Statue of Liberty. Then you would be an international tourist. An international tourist is someone who travels across international borders. For example, travelling from Barbados to the United States.  Tourism is great because it creates many jobs for people who work in hotels.
