It was Gerald’s first visit to the city. He was happy to go but was sad when he got there. There were giant heaps of garbage everywhere! All the things that people throw away each day were in the gutters. There were wrappers from foods, boxes and drink cans, even face masks. Gerald knew that this widespread trash was a breeding ground for insects and germs. “What can I do?” Gerald asked his mother.

“You can start by reusing or recycling things instead of throwing them away.” replied his mother. The next day at school, Gerald told his friends, that they could reuse or recycle things instead of throwing them away. He said that If they all do these things, there will be less trash going to landfills. He told them that to reduce the amount of trash that they make, they should start using a water bottle. He told them not to buy bottles of water that they throw away and to use cloth shopping bags at the grocery store, then they won't have to use plastic bags each time they shop. As a form of recycling, Gerald also told his friends that they could write on both sides of a page.

Getting the right amount of exercise is good for a person‟s health. Not only does exercise help control weight, but it also improves your thoughts, mood, chances of living longer, and firms your muscles. Children need an hour of outdoor activity every day, or three days each week. Keeping your muscles healthy will help you to walk, run, lift things, play sports, and do all the other things you love to do. Strong muscles also help to keep your body in good shape. You must ensure you get at least eight hours of rest at night. Getting the right amount of rest improves your focus which may help you to be bright. If you do not get the right amount of rest, you wake up feeling sick and you will put yourself at a high risk of getting other illnesses. If you feel as though you are not getting enough rest, then you should talk with someone.

Prince Grubby

Prince Grubby was the grubbiest man in the world. He was so grubby
that his flies had flies. The dirt on his legs were like permanent stains,
and the bugs in his hair had lived a lifetime. Everyone in the kingdom
laughed behind his back. However, he was the prince of the land and
as such, demanded respect from the people. The prince would walk
the streets and all the peasants would bow politely, almost mockingly.
“Does he even shower?” they would mutter to each other. “I can smell
the dirt on his flies,” they’d whisper. Young Prince Grubby had no
idea of what was being said, nor did he care. He eventually became
King Grubby and ruled for years.

And five times a day I was forced to endure this spectacle without participating in it. I never had a cent to my name. I was forced to stand in the background, and the sight of those cakes the pupils bought in a joyous uproar and devoured greedily and freely about me, overwhelmed me with passionate desire.
